COVID-19 School Updates

Updates Regarding School Closures and COVID-19

The safety of Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program students, staff, strategic partners and those we love remains our highest priority. ANSEP and the University of Alaska are following protocols established by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services in response to COVID-19. The University health and emergency management teams are monitoring the status of the coronavirus pandemic and are following all recommendations from state and federal agencies.

ANSEP Facilities

The ANSEP Building, ANSEP Academy and ANSEP Acceleration facilities are all open to students and staff.

Middle School Academy

We will resume partnerships to offer in-person opportunities starting fall 2021. 

Acceleration Academy (Mat-Su and Anchorage)

Recitations and weekly Friday meetings will be held in-person. Communication with students and families will continue to be in-person and through the Slack app and email newsletters.

There is no impact on 2021-22 student applicants. All interested students are encouraged to apply. ANSEP will respond to applicants in a timely manner. 

FALL 2021 ANCHORAGE, MAT-SU AND BETHEL APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until filled

Acceleration Ready

Acceleration Ready (Anchorage & Mat-Su) is scheduled to host in-person sessions. Multiple sessions will be offered through Summer 2021.

Recitations and weekly Friday meetings are being held in-person.
