Incoming University Freshman (Summer)

Timing: Summer

Duration: 1 Week

Dorm Experience: Yes

Incoming University Freshman students will transition into the ANSEP University Success component and enroll in a STEM or Business degree program at UAA, UAF, or UAS.

The ANSEP Incoming Freshman (Summer) component is a brand new opportunity that focuses on preparing statewide graduating high school students academically, socially and professionally for college and STEM and Business Administration careers. Incoming Freshman (Summer) students spend a week living on the main University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) campus to learn about the ANSEP University & Graduate Success components, participate in seminars and activities, such as community building activities, learn to navigate around the University campus, participate in a one credit University course, and learn about scholarship, internship and student job opportunities. Target students will be those that live in rural communities, are most impacted by restrictions due to COVID-19, and do not have ease of accessibility to opportunities for college and career preparation.

ANSEP will cover the cost of all housing, meals, and transportation.
