Kotzebue’s Ayiana Browning discusses her Park Service internship with ANSEP’s Summer Bridge program

September 27, 2021

This summer, 25 students from across the state participated of the Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program’s Summer Bridge program. The program places ANSEP students in a ten-week paid engineering, science or business internship, giving them the chance to gain work experience and network with other STEM professionals.

One of the students chosen this year was Ayiana Browning from Kotzebue. Browning spent her summer as an intern for the National Park Service at the Western Arctic National Parklands Bering Land Bridge and has now started her second year at the University of Alaska Anchorage’s Biology program.

Browning spoke with KOTZ live about her experiences with ANSEP, and her work this summer conducting community interviews near Noatak. Listen below!
