Welcome to the ANSEP family!

ANSEP Alum Kelvin Goode Named Alaska’s Top 40 Under 40

April 23, 2025

We are thrilled to celebrate Kelvin Goode, Tarupiat (Alutiiq) of Egegik, who has been named to Alaska Business Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40! This award recognizes Alaskans who are making significant contributions to their industries and communities — and Kelvin’s journey is a shining example of leadership rooted in culture, faith, and purpose.

Kelvin’s ANSEP Journey

Kelvin first joined ANSEP in 2004 through the ANSEP ALVA component, now known as Summer Bridge, and went on to complete his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at UAA in 2009 and earn a Master of Science in Project Management as a Sloan Scholar in 2015.

During his time with ANSEP, he participated in internships with our strategic partners including BP, Kakivik Asset Management, Coffman Engineering, and ANTHC, gaining valuable experience along the way.

A Career Guided by Faith and Purpose

Kelvin attributes much of his journey to staying true to his values and being open to life’s subtle signals. Influenced by ideas in Zen Entrepreneurship by Rizwan Virk, he has embraced a mindset of following “clues” — gut feelings and meaningful connections — that have led him to new opportunities and lasting relationships.

“I’ve met incredible people and had amazing experiences by following those clues. Friends became family. Each step shaped the next.” says Kelvin.

Today, Kelvin is a Project Manager with Meridian Management, overseeing telecommunications projects across the state. He is also a successful entrepreneur, co-owning Alaska Majestic Seafoods, LLC, a smoked salmon company, and Alaska Majestic Properties, LLC, which manages short-term rentals.

Advice for Future ANSEP Students

To students considering ANSEP, Kelvin offers both encouragement and introspection:

“Search your soul. What do you want to give back to the world? Where do you see yourself in five years? Be curious, whether that leads you to STEM or somewhere else. Keep questioning and seeking — that’s how you find what life has to offer.”

A Heartfelt Thank You

In reflecting on his Top 40 Under 40 recognition, Kelvin expresses deep gratitude:

“Thank you to God for continuing to answer prayers and give me strength. Thank you to my family, mentors, friends, and all who supported me. And a great big shout-out to everyone who wrote support letters — reading them has been heartwarming. And thank you to Herb Schroeder for starting ANSEP. We are the outcome of a great vision being realized.”

Kelvin’s story reminds us all of the power of staying true to who we are, listening to life’s subtle nudges, and building community wherever we go. We are honored to be part of his academic and professional journey.

Congratulations, Kelvin!
